The VWR Foundation Celebrates Five Years of Supporting Science

VWR Corporation Commits $250,000 to Celebrate the Milestone

RADNOR, Pa., Dec. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The VWR Charitable Foundation, dedicated to giving back to the science community, is celebrating five years of operations.  Since 2009, the Foundation has donated more than $1.13 million to more than 75 organizations and programs around the globe. In honor of the Foundation's five year milestone, VWR Corporation is donating $250,000 to the VWR Foundation so it can continue its efforts to make a difference.

The VWR Foundation focuses on helping organizations aligned with its mission of research for new innovation and scientific applications, improving health and well-being, and building greater awareness and improvement in science education. In 2014, the Foundation issued 40 grants.

"We are truly grateful for this donation from VWR," said Jim Bramwell, President of the VWR Foundation. "I had the privilege of being a part of the core team who created the Foundation and without the support of the Company's leadership team, associates, suppliers and customers, none of this would be possible."

The VWR Foundation has created programs that engage the Company's associates and customers, such as the VWR Matching program and the VWR Collection program. The success of these programs have helped to fund the Foundation, which has helped organizations such as Educare Africa, Friends of North Carolina State Museum of Natural Science, International AIDS Vaccine Initiative, Quench and Connect, and the United States Naval Academy Foundation.
